About

Auratyk is an audio-visual artist whose work explores at the intersection of nostalgia, digital hauntology, and the impact of physical spaces.

With a background in music, both performance and production, they have developed a distinctive body of work that is overtly visual, while grounded in and driven by sound.

Inspired by our obsession with a perfect past, queer theory, and the impact of the spaces we inhabit, they create works teasing the threshold between the digital and the organic that evoke the indefinable aesthetics of the fallibility of memory — both digital and analogue.

They base their creations in glittery particle systems, using techniques such as point clouds, volumetric video and found footage to create distant but familiar landscapes. These are animated by glitchy, granulated sounds, both inspired and derived from the spaces they inhabit.
